Robotics industry

China has become the world’s largest robotics market and a global hub for innovation; yet it has long been constrained by foreign dependence in critical lubrication technologies. At one point, more than 2 million robots nationwide relied heavily on imported lubricants, requiring annual replacement of these imports for routine maintenance—a situation that posed significant risks to supply-chain security. After more than a decade of intensive research and development, Derunbao achieved a major technological breakthrough, becoming the first in China to successfully scale up the domestic substitution of imported lubricants for robotic applications, thereby providing robust support for the core autonomy and security of China’s smart manufacturing sector.

Robot lubricating grease is a core consumable for robotic drive systems. Its applications span critical components such as RV reducers, harmonic reducers, joint bearings, linear guides, ball screws, and high-speed motor bearings. The grease operates under severe conditions, including high loads, frequent start–stop cycles, fretting wear, and constrained sealing environments.
Under such conditions, extremely stringent requirements are imposed on service life, extreme-pressure and anti-wear performance, low-temperature start-up, and high-temperature stability. Any lubrication failure can lead to reduced robotic precision, abnormal vibration and noise, premature wear of gear reducers, or even complete machine shutdown, resulting in substantial maintenance costs and production‑line downtime—issues that are particularly critical in continuous‑production environments such as semiconductor manufacturing, automotive assembly, and the 3C industry.
